Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need for a complete rod?

You start with the rod. To hang a rod on a wall or ceiling, you need supports. We have various supports in our range. As a nice finishing touch you need finials. You can choose a simple end cap or a finial with details.

I am in doubt about the color, can I request samples?

If you are in doubt about the colours of our curtain rods, you can always request a sample, free of charge, via e-mail or the order button on the home page. We will send you one or more pieces of the rod in your preferred colours. This is to prevent you from ordering rods that do not meet your expectations.

What is the maximum length of a rod that I can order?

For technical reasons, curtain rods up to 265 cm are delivered in one piece. Larger lengths (from 266 cm) are delivered in two parts with a connector. The connection is invisible as it converges with the central bracket. You can order up to a length of 3 meters when you opt for location pick up.

Are the rods solid?

The rods are made of steel. After being galvanized, these have been immersed in a liquid metal bath, e.g. bronze, stainless steel, brass, etc. The outer layer is bronze or brass, covering a steel rod. The black rods are made of steel and black powder-coated.

What are the available rod sizes?

Our curtain rods are 19 mm or 28 mm. They can also be combined in our duo systems. This is useful if you want to put up both net curtains and drapes.

Can I cut the curtain rod to size?

Yes, you can cut the curtain rods to size with either a metal saw or a tube cutter.

How do I order multiple rods?

Enter the desired size in centimetres, and specify how many you would like. Are they different sizes? Then you can add each differently sized rod separately to the shopping basket.

How many rings do I need?

Foremostly, this depends on your curtains. In most cases, this can be 10 rings per fabric meter. However, it is possible that you have more or fewer folds per meter, depending on the type of curtain.

I have a very wide windowsill, can I also use a rod?

In that case, you can order brackets that can be attached to the ceiling. This offers you free placement possibilities.

What types of brackets are there?

We have three types of brackets in our range. We have wall brackets, wall/ceiling brackets and wall-to-wall brackets. These brackets are available in different designs.

Wall brackets can only be mounted on the wall. This is due to the fact that these brackets, which the rods are meant to be placed in, are partially open. However, our wall/ceiling brackets are fully closed. This allows these brackets to be mounted both on the wall and on the ceiling. Our wall-to-wall brackets are used when you want to place the curtain rods exactly between two walls.

Can we reduce the brackets in size?

A number of wall brackets can be cut to size by an iron saw. In the product photos section, you can see an example of this. The maximum length is around 19 cm and the minimum length to shorten is 5 cm. If you want to know the specifics, please take a look at the product description of the aforementioned brackets.

Wall-to-wall brackets

If you would like to place the rod between two walls, make sure you measure it at its tightest and reduce the measurement as follows: for a 28 mm rod, deduct 1.5 cm and with a 19 mm rod, deduct 1 cm. This is necessary for mounting the rod. The tight size will not fit in combination with the brackets.

How many brackets does a rod need?

We assume that two brackets are sufficient for a rod up to about 2.25 m. For rods larger than 2.25 m, we suggest three brackets. However, it is also important to consider the weight of your curtains and whether you plan on opening and closing the curtains on a daily basis.

Rods larger than 2.65 m require three brackets as these rods are delivered in two parts.

How do you know which length of curtain rods you need?

First, consider the space and the placement of your curtain rod. Would you like a rod across the entire width of the wall? Or would you like the rod placed above a window frame? The house decides what is needed. We will provide you with some tips on how to measure the length of your required curtain rods.

How long does a rod have to be?

Start by measuring the length of your window frame. We suggest having the rod stick out an additional 20-25 cm, on both sides, for the best placement. In case of a smaller window, we suggest having 10-15 cm on both sides.

Do not forget to add the length of the finials when calculating the final measurements. Please make sure that it fits the width of the wall(s) and that it looks nice and grand.

Order your rod exactly to size. You can order your exact curtain rod length with centimetre-specificity.

Hoe meet ik een gordijnroede op?

You can measure it with a metal tape measure which is long enough to measure the rod in one go. Measure twice to prevent mistakes.
